Stephen Loo is the Associate Professor of Architectural Design and Program Director (Architecture) of the School of Architecture, University of Tasmania. He has taught at the University of South Australia, University of Sydney, and University of Adelaide, as well as practising as an architect in Australia and Malaysia. Stephen is a Registered Architect and a Member of the RAIA. He is a Founding Partner of architectural, design and interpretation practice Mulloway Studio.

Research Interests
Stephen's research is located at the intersections of philosophy, architectural theory, contemporary visual art and experimental digital practice; in particular on the relationships between architecture, urbanism and the citizenship of place. He has published on relations between language, affect and life; image and the machinic as part of a biophilosophy of the contemporary subject; alternative ethico-aesthetic and ecological models for human action including relations to non-human ontologies; ecological citizenship; and the indeterminacy of experimental digital thinking.
Teaching
Stephen teaches architectural design studios in the Masters of Architecture program, Design and History & Theory in design, and digital design studios.
